Nelson Stretches Hit String to 20 Monday, May 31st, 2066 And the hits just keep on coming -- especially off the red-hot bat of Chris Nelson. The El Dorados first baseman got 1 hit in 4 at-bats in today's 3-2 triumph over the Pinconning Antelopes at El Dorados Ballpark. Nelson has now hit safely in his last 20 games. Asked by the press, how it feels to go through something like this, he replied, "the longer it goes on, the more the pressure intensifies. The press coverage can get relentless at times. I wish I could just go out and play the game without all this distraction, but I know that's not going to happen. I know I will just have to grin and bear it." Chris Nelson hit an RBI single in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, flied out in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th.
