Martínez Cracks 5 Hits Wednesday, May 13th, 2065 It was high-5 day at Naturals Ballpark, at least for Jorge Martínez of the Rochester Bloodhounds. He got a lot of high-5's for his outstanding hitting against the Chandler Naturals, but he and his teammates couldn't pull out a win. Martínez smashed 5 hits in 5 at-bats on a his record-setting day, but Rochester still dropped the game 12-3. His manager said, "Jorge was hitting everything. It really was a special game for him. Too bad the other guys couldn't rise to the occasion and get the victory." In the other dugout the opposing manager told BNN writers, "Martínez bushwhacked my boys today. Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but luckily, we won the ballgame." Jorge Martínez singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. For the year Martínez is batting .331 with 7 home runs. |
