League Suspends Torres 2 Games Wednesday, May 12th, 2066 José Torres of the Bulwarks has been suspended by the league commissioner's office for 2 games for his animated argument with a home plate umpire in yesterday's contest with the Desert Hills Rays at North Richland Hills Grounds. In the heated confrontation the North Richland Hills center fielder pointed to where the ball was and repeatedly pointed his finger in the ump's face and apparently made some contact. That's when he got ejected. Reached for comment on the suspension, Torres said, "I guess I'll have to learn how to not talk with my hands. They are a dangerous weapon according to the umpires." This year Torres is batting .294 with 1 home run and 15 RBIs. |
