Bulwarks Chill Cartwright's Hot Streak Thursday, April 29th, 2066 It was the best of both worlds for the North Richland Hills Bulwarks today at Engines Ballpark as they defeated the Madison Engines 7-5 and also ended Lance Cartwright's 27-game hitting streak. The 25-year-old Madison left fielder failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats. "Nothing personal against Lance, we just wanted to win the game," said the victorious Bulwarks skipper. "We did a great job keeping him off balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Cartwright frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about my streak ending, but I would feel much better about things if we had won the game." This season Cartwright is hitting at a .434 pace with 2 home runs, 22 RBIs and has scored 28 times. |
