5-Hit Blitz by Spokane's Whitelegg Monday, July 26th, 2066 On top of the Spokane hit parade today was Gary Whitelegg. He went to the plate 6 times and marched away with 5 hits, sparking the Sand Crabs to a 11-6 victory over the Kingstown Wart Hogs. The sweet swinging second baseman told reporters, "Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere. When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats." The skipper of the Wart Hogs wailed to the press, "Too much plate. Not the way we planned it. Any hitter in the league will rip you when you do that." Gary Whitelegg singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th. This season Whitelegg is batting at a .303 clip with 1 home run and 40 RBIs. |
