Zaragoza Goes on Rampage Against Diamondcutters Tuesday, July 13th, 2066 Players get multihit games all the time. But a 5-hit game comes around only once in a blue moon. It happened at Diamondcutters Ballpark when José Zaragoza of Ingalls scattered 5 hits all over the ballpark against the Monroe Diamondcutters. He walloped 5 hits in 5 at-bats in his career-day performance to help the Gunboats get by the Diamondcutters 11-5. In a talkative and jovial mood after the game, the first baseman of the Gunboats said, "Whoa, my swing was really, really there today. I made some good, sweet-spot contact and when that happens... good things happen... like 5-5. I could get used to a lot of days like this one." José Zaragoza hit a solo-shot off Mike Williams in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Chris Webb in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 7th. Thus far this season in 62 games Zaragoza is batting .360 with 10 home runs, 42 RBIs and 39 runs scored. He has 82 hits in 228 at-bats. |
