Torres Runs Hit String to 20 Straight Games Tuesday, July 13th, 2066 The Wellesley Ransackers stopped the Rock Creek Riverfrogs today 10-9 and Carlos Torres was able to hit safely again. The Wellesley catcher got 4 hits and ran his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20. Torres was excited after the victory and told the press, "I want to get a hit every time up. I want to get a hit every game I play. I want to win every game for the greatest fans in the world, Ransackers fans!" Carlos Torres flied out in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Lúcio Barrios in the 5th, flied out in the 7th, hit a two-run double in the 9th and hit an RBI double in the 11th. This year Torres is batting .310 with 10 home runs and 46 RBIs. In 79 games he has scored 37 times. |
