Great Day for Colón -- 5 Hits Sunday, May 30th, 2066 It was high-5 day at Viceroys Ballpark, at least for Iván Colón of the Binghamton B-Mets. He got a lot of high-5's from his teammates for his outstanding hitting against the Twin Lakes Viceroys. Colón smashed 5 hits in 6 at-bats on his record-setting day, leading his club to a 18-5 win. His manager said, "Iván was hitting everything. It really was a special game for him." In the other dugout the opposing manager told BNN beat writers, "He ambushed my boys today. Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but luckily, tomorrow is another day. Hopefully it will be our day to shine." Iván Colón grounded out in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 2nd, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 8th and walked in the 9th. To date Colón has chalked up a .299 average with 1 home run, driven in 28 runs and scored 32 times. |
