Hit Parade: Picot Pops 5 Hits Saturday, June 27th, 2065 Ed Picot told the press after his 5-hit day, "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate. He wants to hit the ball hard." Well, that's just what Picot of the Herkimer Marshals did against the Leoti Electric Eels. He went to the plate 5 times and 5 times he delivered base hits, much to the chagrin of the Electric Eels, who suffered a 11-9 defeat. "Not much that I can say," offered the losing manager, "he just hammered the heck out of us." Ed Picot hit a two-run double in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a two-run double in the 8th. This season Picot is batting at a .245 clip with 4 home runs and 33 RBIs. |
