Kunkel Bangs Out 5 Base Hits Friday, May 14th, 2066 "Ever since I picked up my first bat my coaches were always saying to keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing... just make contact and ya never know what'll happen," Shreveport's Norm Kunkel told reporters after the game. "That's all I did today. I made contact and it turned out well." It definitely turned out well for Kunkel today as he collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats against Tampa. It turned out well for his team, too, as the Terriers knocked off the Artillery 21-1 at Artillery Stadium. Norm Kunkel walked in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Joe Schoonover in the 4th, singled in the 5th, walked in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. Kunkel is hitting .259 so far this season with 17 RBIs and 20 runs scored. He has 37 hits including 2 home runs, 18 walks and .350 OBP. |
