Hits Galore: Ball Drills 5 Hits Sunday, April 25th, 2066 It was a parade of hits for Jessie Ball of the Hoxie Rampage, one right after another. He ravaged the Birmingham Rockers for 5 hits in his 7 at-bats. But the Rockers rose to the occasion and rained on his parade with a 9-8 win. "Ball was really good ... we were just a little better," said the Rockers manager in the postgame interview. "It's all right with me if he gets 5 hits every game against us, if we win." Jessie Ball hit a solo-shot off Miguel Pérez in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 7th, hit an RBI double in the 9th, singled in the 11th and grounded out in the 13th. This season in 22 games, Ball has hit at a .376 clip with 35 hits, 5 home runs, 21 RBIs and 17 runs scored. |
