Edwards and MacGregor Fight, Get Suspended Wednesday, June 24th, 2065 Alexander Edwards of the Walkerton River Sharks was not happy with Jeff MacGregor, and his frustration showed when he went after the Green Valley player during yesterday's game at Ballpark of Walkerton. Both benches cleared as they rushed to the aid of their teammates. Order was soon restored as Edwards and MacGregor were pulled away from each other. They were ejected from the game. Both players were suspended 6 games by the league office as a result of their tussle. "It's something that happens in baseball every once in a while," Edwards commented later. "We get frustrated with another player and sometimes things go too far. We'll both take our suspensions and then come back ready to play. I got no hard feelings." Edwards's current batting average stands at .259 and he has chalked up 7 home runs and 30 RBIs. On the year, MacGregor has recorded no saves with a 1-4 record over 61 innings. He has mowed down 66 batters on strikes and walked 27 with an ERA of 5.61. |
