League Gives Sweeney and Mills 6-Game Suspensions
Friday, July 30th, 2066
Baseball confrontations occasionally get intense and sometimes that tension becomes too much and boils over into more than just words. This time it happened to Riverside's Don Sweeney and Garland's Daniel Mills. The two were the main participants in a fight that cleared the benches. Today both were suspended by the league for 6 games for their aggressive actions.
"I hope things settle down now," the manager of the Chiefs said later. "There's no reason for us to be locked in a cycle of revenge. We all need to focus on baseball instead."
Sweeney is presently hitting at a .293 pace with 3 home runs and 36 RBIs. He has played in 87 games and scored 31 times.
Here are his stats for this season: Mills has chalked up 1 save and fashioned a record of 5 wins and 1 losses with a 4.70 ERA. He has made 35 relief appearances, thrown 51.2 innings and struck out 26.
