Clark Pitches Perfect Game for Chicago (A)
Saturday, October 30th, 2066
Many times a perfect game happens only in dreams or in backyard baseball games where you're the only player. When it magically happens in real life, like it did on this October day at US Cellular Field, it's a very special occasion.
Chicago (A) pitcher Randolph Clark retired all 27 batters today, defeating Pittsburgh 2-0 in a once-in-a-lifetime perfect game. He surrendered no hits, walked none, struck out 7 and permitted no one to get on base.
Sitting in the clubhouse after the game, speaking to reporters Clark said, "Many times as a kid, I imagined pitching a perfect game, but it was only a fairy tale. I didn't really ever expect to pitch one. It's a special experience and I don't want to demean it, but I've had better stuff than I had today and lost games. It all just fell into place in this game. They hit 'em where we were and we caught 'em."
To this point in the season, Clark shows a 19-7 record, 32 starts, 210 innings, 217 strikeouts and a 3.90 ERA.
