Cryin' Time: Chapman Retiring Friday, October 8th, 2066 Kansas City catcher Matt Chapman won't be back next year. The 36-year-old announced plans today to retire at the end of the 2066 campaign, saying that it was time to call it a career. "I could probably play another year," Chapman said, "but I don't have that fire you need to play well. And I'm not going out there on those terms. It's a disservice to the Royals and baseball in general. There are just too many aches and pains in this old body for me to continue playing." |
