Houston's James Gets 2000th Hit Thursday, September 23rd, 2066 For John James, it was a red-letter day. The Houston Astros left fielder slapped his 2000th career hit. That his team defeated the Anaheim Los Angeles Angels, 14-4, made it even sweeter. His manager paid tribute to James after the game: "I've followed John since he came into the league," he said.
