Great Day for Lara -- 5 Hits Monday, September 13th, 2066 "Ever since I picked up my first bat my coaches were always saying to keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing... just make contact and ya never know what'll happen," Chicago (A)'s John Lara told reporters after the game. "That's all I did today. I made contact and it turned out well." It definitely turned out well for Lara today as he collected 5 hits in 8 at-bats against Detroit. It turned out well for his team, too, as the White Sox knocked off the Tigers 10-7 at Comerica Park. John Lara singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, flied out in the 6th, doubled in the 8th, grounded out in the 10th, singled in the 12th and hit a three-run home run off Valentín Torres in the 14th. Lara is currently batting .346 with 27 home runs and 95 RBIs. |
