Frye Reaches 3000 Monday, September 6th, 2066 Astros first baseman Bill Frye never thought his name would be associated with some of the great players in league history. Now that he has reached the 3000-hit threshold, that's all but guaranteed. Frye collected his big hit in a 8-2 loss to Minnesota. Afterward, he thought about the achievement: "Overwhelmed," he said. "That's how I feel about it right now." Frye went 2-4 for the game. For his career Frye has hit at a .313 clip. Among his lifetime numbers are 3001 hits, 408 doubles, 22 triples, 570 home runs and 1760 RBIs. |
