López Gets 5 Hits Wednesday, August 25th, 2066 History in the making. That's what the fans at Great American Ballpark got to see today in the New York (N) 8-4 triumph over the Reds. Eduardo López of the Cincinnati came to the plate 5 times and came away with a dynamite day as he exploded for 5 hits against the Mets. "It was a great day for me, but a disappointing one for our fans," he said to the reporters covering the game. "I wish I could have won it for them. They like stats, but they love winning." In the postgame press conference the New York (N) skipper quipped to reporters, "Hey, we tried to get him out. We threw everything but the kitchen sink against him and he hit it. Maybe we should've thrown the kitchen sink. I am just glad we escaped with a win. López was lethal." Eduardo López singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Ron Parker in the 3rd, hit an RBI triple in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. This year López has hit at a .301 pace and produced 73 RBIs, 21 home runs and scored 87 runs. |
