Gutiérrez on Fire, Strikes out 15 Royals Tuesday, August 24th, 2066 Brian Gutiérrez of the Chicago (A) White Sox really put on a pitching clinic today at US Cellular Field as he struck out 15 Kansas City Royals in a 4-2 victory. Gutiérrez was simply magnificent as he held the Royals to 8 hits. He walked 1. "My fastball was okay," Gutiérrez said, "but my breaking stuff really hurt them. I also have to thank my catcher for calling a great game." When asked about Gutiérrez's performance, the White Sox manager shook his head and said, "Yeah, he was pretty good out there today. He was dominating today." In 27 starts this season Gutiérrez has notched a 17-5 record and a 3.18 ERA. |
