Mariners Ballard Suspended 2 Games Sunday, August 22nd, 2066 Seattle catcher Matt Ballard was suspended 2 games by the league office for throwing his bat and helmet after he was ejected for arguing with the plate umpire following a strikeout. The incident occurred in yesterday's game between the Mariners and the Oakland Athletics at McAfee Coliseum.
