Christenson Socks it to Mariners, Cracks 5 Hits Saturday, July 31st, 2066 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-6 day. It might come around only once in a career -- a lot of players never have one -- but Stan Christenson got one today. He scattered hits all over Yankee Stadium to pace New York (A) to a 11-10 victory over Seattle. The Seattle skipper told reporters in the press room, "Tip your hat to him. He hit some good pitches. According to the scouting report, Christenson hit several that he is not supposed to hit." Stan Christenson singled in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Ryan Chapman in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th, doubled in the 7th, hit an RBI double in the 9th and hit an RBI single in the 11th. In 2066 Christenson has hit at a .338 clip with 121 hits, 15 home runs, 63 RBIs and has scored 64 times. |
