Red-Hot Bat: Lange Collects Cycle Friday, July 9th, 2066 Colorado's Kurt Lange went 4-for-5 in today's game and hit for the cycle, collecting all four types of hits and 3 RBIs. But his effort could not overcome the San Francisco Giants, who won the game 7-5. "I didn't really think about it at the time, although after the third hit, it snuck into my mind," Lange told reporters. "The crowd certainly let me know in that last at-bat, that I was going for the cycle ... and I was able to make solid contact and get it. In the end the only thing that matters is that we lost," Lange added. Kurt Lange singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th, hit a two-run triple in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Charlie McKee in the 9th. This season Lange is batting .347 with 128 hits, 19 home runs, 48 RBIs, 37 walks, .426 OBP and has scored 85 runs. He has played in 86 games. |
