Murphy Tosses Shutout Against Rangers Monday, June 21st, 2066 John Murphy of the Oakland Athletics gave the Rangers a steady diet of fine pitches and he walked off the mound with a complete-game shutout. He blanked them 3-0 on 3 hits with a total of 5 strikeouts and 2 walks. The Oakland manager said, "Murphy was on quite a roll. He gets great late movement and he doesn't give in to the hitters." On his stats sheet this season Murphy shows a 4-0 record, 4 starts, 69 innings, 45 strikeouts and a 2.74 ERA. |
